This updated policy details how we handle the personal and sensitive data of Property Owners, Service Providers, and End Users, including new protocols for our Escort Service.
1. DATA WE COLLECT
To provide a secure and verified real estate experience, we collect:
- Identity & Corporate Data: Name, National ID (NIN), URSB Incorporation documents, and Professional Membership certificates.
- Sensitive Property Data: Land Titles, Kibanja rights, and LC1 Chairperson letters to prevent fraudulent listings.
- Financial Data: Bank details or Mobile Money numbers for rent disbursement and subscription billing under the National Payment Systems Act, 2020.
- Location & Escort Data: Precise GPS coordinates of properties and real-time location data for both users and Epic Realty Escorts during scheduled tours.
2. HOW WE USE YOUR DATA
Your data is processed strictly for:
- Verification: Performing KYC (Know Your Customer) checks to ensure only registered owners and licensed businesses list on the platform.
- Escort Coordination: Sharing property locations and owner contact details strictly with assigned Epic Realty Escorts to facilitate safe, professional tours.
- Security: Providing a secure paper trail for the Uganda Police Force (CID) or the Financial Intelligence Authority (FIA) if fraud or theft is reported.
3. DATA SHARING & THIRD PARTIES
- No Public Disclosure: Your sensitive documents (NINs, Land Titles, Company Articles) are never shared with other app users or the general public.
- Payment Processors: We share limited data with licensed payment gateways (e.g., Pesapal) solely to process payouts.
- Legal Mandates: Data is only disclosed to government authorities as required by underlined law.
4. SECURITY & STORAGE
- Encryption: All sensitive personal information is encrypted at rest and during transmission using state-of-the-art security standards.
- Retention: Data is held only as long as necessary for its specific purpose or as mandated by the Companies Act, 2012.
5. YOUR RIGHTS
In accordance with the Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019, you have the right to:
- Access & Rectification: Request a copy of your data or correct inaccuracies.
